Originally opened in 2017 beneath a downtown sandwich shop, Jimmy Can’t Dance quickly became a beloved Louisville jazz bar known for its intimate vibe, live authentic jazz music and classic cocktails. After closing in 2021, the bar returns with new life inside Hotel Genevieve in NuLu—one of the city’s most vibrant cultural districts. The revived space brings back signature elements like its iconic neon sign, vintage-inspired touches like French Empire chandeliers, and a raw, unplugged jazz experience with no microphones or amps. Seating for just 50 guests, Jimmy Can’t Dance stays true to its roots: soulful, effortless and all about the atmosphere.
